What is a kitten heel v. a mid-height heel?

time to address the drastic difference here.

We get this question quite often in our inbox, and felt it was time it was addressed.

Nowadays, the term kitten heel is thrown around very loosely— so few understand what actually qualifies as a true kitten heel.

How are you supposed to make the right vintage heel purchase if you don’t know exactly what you are buying? Well, we are about to make it that much easier to hit “complete order”.

A kitten heel defines a heel that is between 2”-2.5”. Any higher than that, and you have yourself a mid height heel, and are probably starting to feel it after a few hours.

Kitten heels are a go-to option for daytime (and our preferred). Pair them with baggy denim, Bermuda shorts, a silky slip dress and you’re out the door.

All of this is not to discredit the mid height heel. To us, there’s something to be said about that extra inch of elevation. Literally, and figuratively. The extra height does go a long way when looking to elongate your legs, and elevate an outfit all around. Plus— a mid height heel is often easier to transition into an evening setting.

BAM. There it is, nothing more to it.

Pay attention to the measurements, ladies. We make it a point to list all heel heights on our website, so naturally, head on over and view our current collection here.
